Tom: Hello, Tom speaking.
Godfather: Hey, Tom! It’s your godfather here! What’s up?
Tom: Peter! What a surprise! Where are you calling from?
Godfather: Actually, I’m back home. We arrived in Belgium yesterday morning.
Tom: Really? How was your trip?
Godfather: Great! The people we met were all very friendly and we were lucky with the weather! Even Great Britain was sunny and warm!
That’s where we went first. We flew to London and spent three days there. That city is really terrific, so lively! There is so much to do…
Tom: Did you enjoy the British sense of humour?
Godfather: Yeah, we had a lot of fun, especially in the pub where we had dinner every evening. It was nice to practise my English.
Too bad we didn’t see Kate and William…
Tom: Did you go to Paris as well?
Godfather: Yes, with the Eurostar. There we visited the Louvre Museum - very interesting – and we ate at the restaurant of the museum.
Tom: Wasn’t it expensive?
Godfather: Yes, indeed it was! And somebody stole my wallet with my passport and my money while we were eating, … So stressful! I got a bad headache! Anyway, after Paris we drove to Madrid where we met two nice Spanish guys during a football match of Real Madrid. They gave us some advice about what to do in Spain. That’s why we made an excursion to Barcelona the next day. But there were too many people because of a music festival in the city centre. We decided to cycle in the countryside around Barcelona instead. As the weather was very hot, we swam in a little river near a forest. So refreshing!
Tom: Did you visit another country?
Godfather: No, unfortunately we didn’t. No time left. I’m going back to work tomorrow morning, so…
Tom: What a pity! At least, no need for a cap and sunglasses here! It’s raining!
Godfather: Yep, you’re right! (laughing) But the chips are so much better!
